Rhyme-smith, Swilo is your emcee for the evening, while making their presence impossible to ignore, the ever-dependable Big Daddy T. (Uncle Tony Ghee) on bass and forward thinking drummer, 19-year-old Jimahl ‘Marley J’ Fairburn anchoring the assault.
Classik Nawu [Kla-Sik-Nah-Woo]. Classic Music.
Even as kids on a remote Island community in the Torres Strait, they weren’t into writing a song as much as penning a classic, and the Songwriting comes to the fore. The works themselves are the virtual bow launching the group on a flight path that sees them hitting strategic targets in the concrete jungle.
Formed in 2011, the bon-a-fide buzz surrounding this band’s debut performances, the release of a five track EP - Hipfunkfresh, and their quickly increasing fan base, have Classik Nawu poised to become a major force in Urban music of the decade.
