Now, Cedarsmoke are ready to follow that up with their new 6-track EP, ‘Kicked Out Of Eden’, set to be released on Friday, 8th of March.
Finding themselves in a Queensland backyard with a shed and a beer in hand, the fitting title of this EP, ‘Kicked Out Of Eden’, portrays the bands moralistic stance on life and their ability to make light on despairing, “out of luck” situations in their self-proclaimed drab, circadian rhythm of life.
This is clearly highlighted by the wonderfully ambivalent and self-defeating track titles including ‘Waiting To Die’ (that opens the EP), to ‘Here Alone’, ‘Fucking Up’, ‘It Goes Awry’, ‘Downer’ and lastly ‘Let The Wind Blow’.
Despite the dejected reality found in these songs, there is a consistent uplifting feeling throughout the whole EP - like a dark-humoured sitcom about the everyday picayune things of some wretched characters.
