Lorrpu - Lorrpu     Indigenous, Pop, World, Folk 29/07/2016
Lorrpu was born into a musical family, including most of the Gulf Country legends from Arnhem Land. His father was the keyboard player for legendary Top End band, Soft Sand.
The demo version of his song “Lorrpu” (meaning White Cockatoo) won NT Pop Song of the Year in 2013 and is based on an Aboriginal legend of his homeland, sung exclusively in the Yolngu language of Gupapuyngu.

This debut album features songs in Gupapuyngu, Pitjantjatjara and English.

Kev Starkey is an Adnyamathanha and Torres Strait Islander man passionate about caring for Country and singing the blues.
From Kev Starkey’s debut album this is a laid back jazz love song to his teenage sweetheart, who then went on to become his wife of 24 years. Sung in Kev Starkey’s signature smoky voice, this piano-driven blues tune is Australia’s answer to the honky-tonk rhythms of southern USA.

KnD are a hip-hop duo from Alice Springs. Karnage (Tristrum Watkins)is a Western Arrernte man Hermannsburg. Darknis (Corinna Hall) is a Ngarrindjera/Kokatha woman from Raukkan, SA and Ceduna.
'Cut Me' focuses on the cycle of domestic violence.
The track also features the serene vocals of Indigenous singer/songwriter Kristal West, who has also recently released a track as an ode to her grandfather and storied Australian land rights activist, Eddie Mabo.
