Broads - MIRROR

Broads - MIRROR
Melbourne’s queens of indie-noir Broads are proud to announce “Mirror”, the first single from their upcoming sophomore album, due for release early 2019.

With a haunting sound spun like gossamer and the narcotic, deceptively sweet voices of front women Kelly Day and Jane Hendry, Broads weave a Lynchian mix of folk and indie rock with the surreal pop sounds of the 60s.

While strongly focused on dreamy vocal harmonies and influenced by some of the great crooners from across the eras – from Elvis to Thom Yorke, Nina Simone to Feist – Broads are firmly carving their own melodic and lyrical path resisting any comfortable fit into one particular genre or era.

About this track...

Inspired by a Sylvia Plath poem of the same name, “Mirror” is an acerbic reflection on our often obsessive projections and hunger for self-affirmation through the saccharine veils of social media.
