Their captivating on-stage presence has won over audiences from picking up the prize for the Best Community Band at Barunga Festival to playing to a sold-out show in Melbourne’s Spiegel Tent alongside emerging artist Yirrmal (Yirrkala) and contemporary folk outfit The Mae Trio. They have also make regular appearances throughout Melbourne and the Top End.
Through previous demos ‘Struggle’ and ‘Learning on Country’, The Black Rock Band speak of their families cultural richness as well as the social and political issues that reflect their experiences as First Nations peoples.
