Originally from Liverpool, I have recently returned to Noosa after an absence of some 16 years and am finally settled on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland with my wife and family.
I write and produce my own music which is mainly acoustic and instrumental. I also write music that I think would be more suited to film and occasional singer/songwriter stuff, then try and rope someone into singing it.
In 2001, I graduated from Otago University in New Zealand after completing my Bachelor of Music Degree. I began learning Classical Guitar during my study, although I have been playing guitar ever since I was a teenager, I mostly played on 12 string or 6 string acoustics. The transition to the Classical, nylon stringed Guitar was a natural one for me as I had long admired the work of Julian Bream, and had always been interested in learning more about the instrument.
I also have a great love of all things radio and host a weekly radio show for Radio Kidnapper’s in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. It’s called Barry’s Mystery Mix and it airs on Radio Kidnapper’s Tuesday mornings 9:10am-9:35am. Standard time zone: UTC/GMT +12 hours.
