Gold Coast duo, Banks Of The Beautiful deliver driving beats and soaring synths over bouncing electronica that could lift even the heaviest of hearts with moving melodies, lyrics and a strong pop sensibility. A winning collaboration that sees new musical directions for both artists, Banks of the Beautiful is the brainchild of former MC Lou Star (of Big Day Out's Boiler Room fame), paired with the musical chops of UK drummer and producer Andy Woollard, who was signed to his first record label at just 16 seeing him share the stage with rock legends like Pearl Jam. Putting the finishing touches on their debut album, Unscheduled Departure, all indications point to a very promising future for this indie pop/electro combo. “Banks of the Beautiful, in a nutshell, create hyper-lucid and fun electronic pop music that ushers the melodic intricacies of Metric and the joyous pop outlooks of Goldfrapp or Zola Jesus,” said AAA Backstage, and The Soundcheck Review said, “From bubblegum electro to cinematic heartbreaker, it’s fair to say that this unpredictable and diverse duo will be keeping us on our toes when their album pops this year, and it’s clearly going to be something pretty special.”
