Aussie Rob - Clouds From Higgins

Aussie Rob - Clouds From Higgins
Aussie Rob and his band of larrikyns are on the search for something profound. They thought they found it, but it turned out to be mirage. They document their experiences using Aussie Rob’s tunes as a vehicle for self expression.

His music is heavily influenced by his local musical idols he saw growing up, such as Jamie Oehlers, Andrea Keller, Gian Slater, Sam Anning Luke Howard, Ben Winkelman and Barney Mcall. As well as influences external to Australia such as James Blake, Miguel Zenon, Booker Little and Nelson Riddle.

Rob’s music focuses on having contrasting sonic landscapes by writing with a ‘controlled weirdness’ that produces a distinctive sound to the compositions. His band is comprised of Bede Ford-Gaddes (trumpet), Callum Mintzis (trombone), Paul Kascamanidis (guitar), Robbie Finch (double bass, also may or may not be Aussie Rob) and Lewis Pierre Humbert (drums). The band produces a sound informed by modern jazz, experimental folk, chorales, alternative and experimental music.

About this track...

This tune is written for Paul Higgins, the world's greatest weather man. The idea is that the worse the weather gets the greater the responsibility Higgins will have.

This tune is a chorale/death march featuring the talents of Lewis Pierre and Paul Kascaminidis
