Aspley is a producer from Sydney who, on February 23, marked his first release with a heavy beat tape titled 'Act I'. The cassette was released by Amino Records, sister company to Cult Trip Records whose catalogue comprises club oriented releases from Dan White, J. Albert, Grey People and more. Aspley's 'Act I' pushes the boundaries of hip hop by incorporating elements of techno and thrilling orchestral sounds. With the tracks playing out like gripping scenes, it is unsurprising that Aspley's influences range from film composers Bernard Herrmann and John Williams to underground Southern and East Coast producers/rappers from the 90's, notably Havoc of Mobb Deep. Keep an eye out as Aspley continues to make a name for himself performing in local clubs and producing beats for rappers here and abroad.
