Her unique upbringing had a distinct impact on her music – even after abandoning the cult – leading to the recording of her first solo EP as a teenager in 2005. Since then, it has been a journey of musical-discovery through love, loss and vulnerability.
A little experimentation with a glockenspiel from a local music store sparked the creation ‘Peel’, the title track of Amy’s EP, released in mid 2012.
She then had huge local support for her follow on single ‘Running’ - seeing Amy paint her experimental pop sensibilities with a more synth-heavy musical palette. The release of ‘Running’ saw Amy placed as a finalist in the 2013 Vanda & Young Songwriting Competition, shortlisted for the APRA-Josh Pyke Award and has attracted a number of remixes, including Sydney producers Nik Karlin and Harrison Dunwell.
