Her brand of progressive pop is edging it’s way closer to the fore, showing that Wills is an artist with integrity and longevity.
For most of 2014 Wills and Guitarist/Co – songwriter Lawrence Folvig, have been working on new material.
Upon meeting Brisbane producer extraordinaire Matt Redlich (Holy Holy, Emma Louise) after a AW show at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge in 2013, a mutual musical connection was acknowledged and embraced by the trio and collaboration on new the material began.
Redlich’s studio – Grandma’s Place is set amongst an industrial backdrop, a stark contrast to the confines of Grandma’s Place which is relaxed, inspired and very much conducive to creativity.
Over the summer of 2014 the tracking of the first song Drive began. Folvig (Guitar/Bass) and Arron Light (Drums) bringing the right amount of pep to the rhythm section whilst Wills’ vocal beams front and centre.
Drive will form part of a forthcoming EP to be released in 2015.
