Ainslie Wills - Constellations

Ainslie Wills - Constellations
Melbourne Melodist Ainslie Wills has been accruing an earnest following amongst the Australian and International music scenes since the release of her Australian Music Prize and Melbourne Music Prize nominated LP ‘You go your way, I’ll go mine’ in 2013.
Her brand of progressive pop is edging it’s way closer to the fore, showing that Wills is an artist with integrity and longevity.

For most of 2014 Wills and Guitarist/Co – songwriter Lawrence Folvig, were working on new material.

Upon meeting Brisbane producer extraordinaire Matt Redlich (Holy Holy, Emma Louise) after a AW show at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge in 2013, a mutual musical connection was acknowledged and embraced by the trio and collaboration on new the material began.

Redlich’s studio – Grandma’s Place is set amongst an industrial backdrop, a stark contrast to the confines of the studio which is relaxed, inspired and very much conducive to creativity.

In mid 2014 the tracking of Ainslie's latest single Constellations began.
The song is a throwback to a childhood memory cloaked in thick choral moments with a nod to Boards of Canada.
Constellations will form part of a forthcoming EP "Oh The Gold" to be released in September 2015.

About this track...

A contemplative piano and vocal beginning with references to childhood memories gazing at the stars that leads to the song being hurled into the stratosphere with angelic choral sounds and explosive rhythms. The song then gradually drifts back down to earth where it began its pensive mood.
