‘Not Worth Hiding’ is a coming of age song in its purest form. It documents a big realisation Alex had at aged 16 written into one of the catchiest songs you’ll hear bounded by thumping drums and simple chords. It’s a raw, deeply personal track about finding yourself.

'Testify' is a piece of Birdz's heart. It is deeply real and vulnerable, written and recorded with family. The lyrics are relatable for far too many families dealing with the effects of abuse, a suppression that Birdz wants to release for others.

Banoffee - Ripe     Electronic, Pop 24/06/2017
Banoffee returns with 'Ripe', the first single to be released in almost two years, out now via Dot Dash / Remote Control Records.
'Ripe' bounces around a manipulated vocal sample, a grating bassline scratch and infectious drops. It's intended to conjure the abrasiveness of a situation Banoffee often found herself in – feeling exploited in the music industry. Intentionally grubby, it's also a mirror of the project's “dirty, crass personality.”
