One of the most hectic live shows you will see this year, the guitar sounds of Foals with the vocals of At The Drive In, Without Wolves are the young talents of Harry Newling, Dave Rollo, Jay Gargaro and Nick Krstic. Hailing from the Victorian surfing hotbeds of Torquay and the Mornington Peninsula the band are already cemented in Australia’s surf culture and were invited to play the Tracks magazine annual party during the 50th Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach earlier this year. Drawing inspiration from Bloc Party, We Are Scientists and Death From Above, Without Wolves are a fast and aggressive indie pop band with combinations of scratchy intricate guitars, 80’s inspired synth, poppy bass lines, fast paced beats and distinct vocals.
After only a year behind them focusing on their rowdy live show the band have calmed down enough to record their debut EP. The result is ‘Lights Out In Finland’, which was completed at the end of 2010 with Matt Darcy at Basin Studios.
