The Stillsons were formed in 2006 through a love of harmony singing and country guitar picking. The core of the band are singer-songwriters, Justin Bernasconi (guitar) and Cat Canteri (drums). This rare male-female dynamic echoes the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Welch & Rawlins.
The song writing ‘themes’ of this Melbourne based outfit are intense and powerful, their debut album 'Circus' (2009) garnered much praise: ‘striving only to tell a story… the band effortlessly draws together blues, folk and country’ - Sunday Herald Sun Vic.
Since then the band has toured Australia extensively, played numerous festivals (Apollo Bay, Yeppoon, Boolarra), and the UK.
The production for their forthcoming album 'Earnest' began in Jan 2010, shortly before Ben Franz (The Waifs) joined the group. Advising the band to wait, he promptly flew back to WA, packed all his recording gear in the back of a car, drove back to Melbourne start recording within days!
Their single 'Nobody Knows You Tonight' received airplay on Triple J, ABC Radio National, Bay FM, 3RRR, PBS, 4ZZZ to name a few.
The band launch ‘Earnest’ with an East Coast Tour in Sept/ Oct, and a launch in Victoria and SA in Oct/ November.

Call Me Up is the opening track from 'Earnest'. A beautiful rolling acoustic guitar line starts the song and upbeat tale of unrequited love follows. Bernasconi sings 'while you haven't made it big with the deal you've had'. Guitar and pedal steel guitar solos effortlessly flow throughout it's 3.30mins.
