The Shivering Timbers are a Melbourne based band drawn together out of a shared passion for original and traditional acoustic music.
Damian Mah is a lead vocalist and plays guitar and harmonica.
Aaron Hart plays double bass, stomp box and backing vocals.
Nick Hadgelias plays mandolin, accordion, harmonica and backing vocals.
Steve Mayhew is a lead vocalist, plays banjo and guitar.
They have each been playing music for over 15 years and are seasoned live performers and songwriters.
The band started work on their debut album - Natural Remedies - in winter 2009, recording it in share houses and back yard studios in Brunswick and Thornbury. Slowly funding production through steady gigs across Melbourne's inner north, the band finally launched the album at back yard pirate party in December 2010.
The album charts a journey from youthful bravado through loss and the getting of wisdom to arrive at peace in its final destination.
Word is spreading about the Timbers' kinetic live performances, which feature a deep back catalogue of originals and covers from Townes Van Zandt, Woodie Guthrie, Roy Acuff and Beck.
After a summer of performance in 2011/12, the band will return to the studio for album number two.
