The Novocaines recorded by Brisbane community radio station, Beau FM, as part of 2011's Big Sound showcase.
The Novocaines with an average age of 21 (Corey Marriott –vocals, Jay Marriott – guitars, Steven Turnock – bass/baritone guitars, Liam Young – Drums) have traveled the world, playing gigs including SXSWas well as opening for bands like Them Crooked Vultures and playing Australia's own Big Day Out.
The Novocaines have independently released two well received EP’s. They've worked with leading edge producers and mixers in Tokyo and London (Alan Brey, Nick Terry) and have had their blistering song “Cup of Coffee” included on the Scream 4 soundtrack.
This young band is aware that creative independence is often at odds with such bedfellows as music industry success; as such The Novocaines are doing everything in their power to reach their fans; yet, stay within themselves.
Big Sound is a music industry conference held in Brisbane each September, and always attracts national and international music names. Big Sound Live showcases the best in emerging Australian music.
