Introducing The Growl, and their first single Smoke It To The Bone, taken from their debut EP to be released February 2011 through Shock Records.
Grinding guitars, a vicious scrawl of percussion and an unsettling yet fulfilling barrage of gravel torn vocals, Smoke It to The Bone is a ripping garage and blues influenced track. An eerie yet utterly intriguing taste of what is to be expected from a debut EP launching in February.
The Growl, with a mere handful of performances behind them have come to the forefront with a holster of basement birthed recordings, littered with a cacophony of out of tune guitars, resuscitated pianos and broken cymbals.
At the recent One Movement showcase The Growl caught the ear of Triple J music director Richard Kingsmill who later raved about the band on his show 2010 and played the unmastered version of their track ʻ3,6,9ʼ.
Since then, The Growl have been invited to perform at the Laneway and Southbound Festivals in 2011.
