Scott came to wider attention through his more recent work on the John Cameron Mitchell (of ‘Hedwig & The Angry Inch’) film ‘Shortbus’ (2006), writing the stunning theme song, “In The End” (sung by Tony-nominated performer Justin Bond), and performing in the film itself.
Scott self-titled debut solo album was released to widespread acclaim, featuring several songs from the ‘Shortbus’ soundtrack reworked to new arrangements.
‘There Is An Ocean That Divides And With My Longing I Can Charge It With A Voltage That’s So Violent To Cross It Could Mean Death’ is Scott’s second album. The record’s title is characteristic of the new material. In the hope of not sounding pretentious, the title serves as a symbol of a more detailed approach, as well as conveying age-old themes of longing, love and loss.
