Fronted by the captivating Betty Bombshell and featuring members of seminal Sydney band Toys Went Berserk, ROCKET TO MEMPHIS have been electrifying audiences in Perth since 2006.
Their debut EP “Swampwater Shuffle” (2007) gave the rest of the country it’s first taste of the band’s unique sound, leading to supports with swamp heroes The Scientists and international rockabilly stars Slim Jim Phantom & Darrell Higham.
Rocket to Memphis' first full-length CD "HIP-SHAKIN’ VOODOO" was released by UK label Raucous Records in April 2009 - and it certainly lives up to it’s name! From eye-popping Vince Ray cover art, to the 13 seductive, swingin’, twisted gems inside - it showcases a band that has really hit its stride - and is surely one of our most distinctive home-grown talents.
