The musical concept came about when lead singer/songwriter, Brooke Shelley believed renaissance and baroque music should be heard by non-classical music listeners. She took to writing songs that were influenced by “old music” and reignited a musical collaboration with guitarist, Michael Sheridan, whom she met when they were students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Internationally renowned organist, David Drury, was invited to join Brooke and Michael to help create a sound that illustrated these interwoven musical ideas. Drury’s broad musical tastes (including prog rock and dance) infiltrate his playing, showing that the humble pipe organ can actually be a ‘rocking beast’! David recommended his nephew, Matt Roberts, to take charge of the rhythm section and the core of Resonaxis was formed. Bass guitarist and ex-model, Julie Kim joined Resonaxis in 2008. They have released a both a CD single, "Videntes stellam Magi" (January 2007) and self-titled CD (May 2008).
