‘City Life’ is lifted from the band’s debut album which, with a multitude of musical friends orbiting around them, they are currently in the midst of recording in Impure Cabana, Brian’s inner Sydney city Newtown studio.
The track itself is, in Elana’s words: “a song about living in the city and looking for love, or even just a connection. It's strange that we can be lonely even while we are surrounded by so many people. And the scariest part is, even when we find these people to love, we are still ultimately alone. Depressing much? Much.”
Between them, Brian and Elana have worked with many prominent Australian artists including Angus & Julia Stone, Josh Pyke, Bluejuice, Washington, The Cat Empire, Katie Noonan, and Urthboy. And internationals - including Joanna Newsom, Passenger and Khaki King.
