After dipping toes in the bubbling grease of contemporary dance (Rockshow Nov09) Regurgitator back in classic 3-piece mode dropped the strainer in the chip fryer, played some festivals and sold-out shows (Sydney and Melbourne)... are back on the fries as they saturate the wrapper with new recordings, tours and a soundtrack to cult classic Akira.
With Quan & Ben's relocation to Melbourne earlier this year, setting up studios in their newly acquired dwellings they started work amid various distractions on new recordings planning to eschew the stock-standard album release scenario for a "take it as it comes" approach more in synch with current trends of the listener. To coincide with a Sept Australia tour they release the first batch of recordings under the title Distractions.
On August 8 at the Graphic festival, Sydney Opera House Regurgitator performed a live score to the ground breaking Japanese anime film AKIRA. And following this... they embark on the most intensive headline tour since the 2007 Amor e Paranoia tour and the 2008 tour with guiding lights DEVO. For this latest slush in hot fat Regurgitator has invited Melbourne's RAT VS POSSUM and Brisbane's LANEOUS & THE FAMILY YAH along for the fries.
