NoFoTo was originally formed in the Victorian snow town of Mt Hotham in 2006. After relocating to Hobart, Tasmania in 2007 the band now spends its time between Melbourne and Hobart. The name NoFoTo was chosen because the original members worked at a photography company at Mt Hotham and playing a gig on a Friday night generally meant that ‘No Photos’ would be taken on Saturday morning.
NoFoTo is influenced by a wide range of music and bands such as Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Sublime, You am I and The Shins. The current sound the band is creating would compare in sound to bands such as The Temper Trap and Kings of Leon. The band believes in letting their songs grow organically and this is demonstrated in their latest independent EP release Mop the floors.
The band’s latest offering has been described as "Epic Indie" and “full of honest emotion”. And honest is exactly what it is, the boys play from the heart and live shows are notoriously energetic.
