Recorded in Melbourne in December 2012 at the legendary Bakehouse Studios with Callum John Barter (Mike Noga, British India) as engineer and co-producer (with Mikelangelo & St Clare). They recorded 7 tracks live to 24 track tape over three days just before Christmas, and the lazy, dreamy sound of “Oh Me Oh My” was one of the immediate stand out tracks - a perfectly languid song for summer nights when you just want to lounge on the verandah and feel the heat of the day slowly disappear into the night.
You can hear influences from old 1950’s/60’s country, folk and pop music, as well as traces of the floating style of the Cowboy Junkies, Mazzy Star and the even the film music of David Lynch/Angelo Badlamenti. But beyond these influences, what can be heard is a clear and beautiful song that is very much in its own lullaby vein.
About this track...
“Two of the most amazingly rich, mature, romantic voices in Melbourne. Both are wholly worthy of the recognition and praise already heaped upon them.” ARTS HUB
