The second Love Connection album, ‘Euphoria’ immediately ‘appears’; a beautifully opaque collection of swirling pop, but dig a little deeper and discover the reflective end of their lyrics, which while simplistic are introspective and in the context of pop music, offer up something which nears the anthemic.
From the hazy warmth of the opener ‘Piezoelectric’ and ‘Coasting’, the resonant pop tones of ‘Nobody Knows’, the ‘Floydian vibes of (the awesome) ‘Natures vice’, to the gloriously ambient ‘Forest’, ‘Euphoria’ is filled with shimmery songs that only age better with repeated listens.
This is not to mention the 20+ minutes of the title track, which lulls you with its lovingly entwined drones and Kraut-tones.
