Mark Moldre - Nowhere At All     Folk, Blues, Roots 07/05/2013
With a swag of releases behind him Mark has pooled the musical genres that have shaped and inspired him to make a diverse, eclectic album that is filled with contrasts.
Written after a late night session reading up on the life story of Hermann Hesse. I’ve always loved his book “Wandering” and I knew that eventually it would inspire a song.

ON TOUR:
JUL/AUG
NSW/QLD

Other tracks by Mark Moldre:  Where Will I Be?  -  Killer Anxiety
The Nature Strip - Hero     Rock, Pop 07/05/2013
Peter Marley and John Encarnacao did three albums as Warmer for W.Minc and Half a Cow. TNS is a whole new beast though - brighter, poppier, harder, faster...
One of the real gems of the album, ‘the ballad’ if you will. Pete melts the stoniest of hearts, smashing through meteors, battling with tigers and giants, diving deep for the prize - all for you. With a half-broken piano and an r’n’b drum loop that rumbles like a dinosaur.

Other tracks by The Nature Strip:  It's Inside You  -  Three-Foot High Sissy Bar
The Glorious - On The Capital City Trail     Country, Roots, Rock 07/05/2013
The Glorious are purveyors of classic songcraft and transcendent melody. Formed in Melbourne in 2004 with classic touchstones such as Bruce Springsteen and The Band.
There's a place along the Capital City Trail in Brunswick where I used to walk. Sometimes I'd be tired and sad but when I got to where the trail meets the Upfield train line -- it'd always make my spirits lift. This song is about walking that trail.

Other tracks by The Glorious:  Rescue Me  -  Revival!
Bryan Estepa - Nothing At All     Rock, Pop 07/05/2013
Estepa has always had a knack for an insistent sweetly-voiced melody; blending his eclectic musical tastes (from classic singer-songwriter fare to California country-rock to guitar pop) into a distinctive brew.
A song about finding love but taking it for granted. This coming through the notion of fear or insecurity. Like they say, you don't know what you've got till its gone.

Other tracks by Bryan Estepa:  Them Fighting Words  -  Seachange
The Nature Strip - It's Inside You     Rock, Pop 05/04/2013
Peter Marley and John Encarnacao did three albums as Warmer for W.Minc and Half a Cow. TNS is a whole new beast though - brighter, poppier, harder, faster...
Enter the Portuguese guitar (it sounds a bit like a mandolin, but deeper) . . . and the cello for extra heaviosity. Another dose of killer jangle. The lyrics sound kinda cosmic. Light one up and let us know what you think.

Other tracks by The Nature Strip:  Three-Foot High Sissy Bar  -  Hero
Will and the Indians - What If I Said     Rock, Pop 12/01/2013
Stirring dual guitar work. Clever, self-conscious lyrics. A rhythm section propulsive enough to power a goddamn car. That's the fine young Camden lads, Will and the Indians!
A night out at a party where you're getting the right kind of attention from the wrong kind of people – are you prepared to take a risk with unsavory characters? The musicianship takes you on this journey - powerful guitars and a booming rhythm section paints the ultimate picture.

Edward Deer - Please Stay     Folk, Electronic, Atmospheric 02/11/2012
Edward Deer’s dark, melodic and highly personal sound suggests a range of reference points, from classic acoustic folk to pop, rock, Americana and electronic music.
"Probably the poppiest tune on my album, though it’s not without its mellow, introspective moments. I like the drum machine and vaguely 80s vibe it has. It was co-written with my friend Nic (singer from the band Cogel). The vocal melodies he contributed are beautiful, I think."

Other tracks by Edward Deer:  With Ease
Hinterlandt - Trick or Treat     Electronic, Dance, Downbeat 08/10/2012
Hinterlandt is a German-born multi-instrumentalist and producer who lives in Sydney. His music employs adventurous musical ideas and uses elaborate compositions to form accessible and exhilarating tracks.
This track has a bouncy vibe, inviting listeners to tap their feet under the coffee table or dance around the office. Friendly melodies are embedded in a network of intricate beats, setting the stage for a handshake between the organic and the digital world

Other tracks by Hinterlandt:  You Are Welcome
Miss Little - Years     Pop, Folk 23/08/2012
This single comes off the back of a productive stint touring with Lanie Lane, singing duets with Brendan Maclean and releasing the popular 50’s melodramatic video “A Place Without Time”.
Dubbed a “Musical Chameleon” by Brisbane’s Time-off, Sydney’s Miss Little describes her new single “Years” as “Folk-Hop-Chamber-Pop”.
It sees her combine her love of a catchy beat, Salvation Army brass and sentimental lyrics with a bit of man choir thrown in for good measure.

Edward Deer - Washed Ashore     Folk, Electronic, Atmospheric 05/06/2012
His dark, melodic and highly personal sound suggests a range of reference points, from classic acoustic folk to pop, rock, Americana and electronic music.
I recorded ‘Washed Ashore’ in my dad’s boatshed and you can hear the lapping of the tide at certain points in the song. Lyrically, I was contemplating human habit - how sometimes we’ll repeat mistakes and continually hurt people we love, even when we feel a great loyalty to them.

James Thomson - Car Park Blues     Blues/Roots, Country, Folk 25/05/2012
James Thomson is a young singer/songwriter hailing from NSW. He writes his own mix of blues, folk and country music.
Written after three nights sleeping in my car in a Carpark in Cairns, QLD. All night there were huge neon signs burning and hissing for no one at all. I was thinking about home and someone I was missing and everything seemed crazy and bent out of shape.

Other tracks by James Thomson:  Not for You (Odds & Ends)  -  Postcard
The Autumn Isles - Mystery To Hide     Rock, Pop 03/05/2012
The Autumn Isles present an infectious batch of songs on debut album Kaleidoscopes, which displays their musicianship and artistic vision, and above all a love of timeless pop music.
Lyrically, this song explores an aspect of yourself that remains hidden, like a conscious of your higher self, and how that aspect imitates your life.

Other tracks by The Autumn Isles:  Throwing Stones  -  Leave It All Behind
Wilding - I’ll Love You Until Monday Morning     Pop, Psychedelic, Britpop 01/05/2012
Wilding’s playful pop experimentation delights in slyly curling melodies and frank, if at times absurdist, lyrics about love and desire. Now imagine distinctly British-flavoured songs from psychedelic-era Abbey Road studios.
When love is just a weekend away...
‘I’ll Love You Until Monday Morning’ is a Beatlesque sing-a-long pop gem with a harmonious ending of swirling guitars and interlaced vocals.
...’I remember your clothes, slipping to the floor. I remember the knocks, through the walls, from next door’...

Other tracks by Wilding:  The Day I Let You Pass Me By  -  Burning Up Inside
Hailer - Postbag     Rock 12/03/2012
What has Sydney band Hailer been doing since the release of their critically-acclaimed, psych-pop-rock debut album, Good Canyon?
Well, since you asked...here's a new tune! It's called, Postbag. Consider it an introduction to our next record. One that we're working on at this very moment…more real soon!

Bambino Koresh - What I’m Gonna Do Now     Pop, Rock, Country, Folk 29/02/2012
Bambino Koresh is for fans of classic pop / rock bands such as Big Star and early 70s Neil Young and Crazy Horse.
It's about feeling utterly lonely, without your love. The moment after he/she just left. And that feeling of hopelessness.

Other tracks by Bambino Koresh:  Terracotta Warrior  -  Campbell
Charlie Horse - Dead Roses     Rock 28/02/2012
……“If Lucinda Williams had ever jammed with The Pretenders, I suspect it would have sounded a little like this – tasty.” whereangelsfear Tumbler.com
Dead Roses, a seemingly innocent slow waltz ballad but upon further listens it reveals the sinister side of the singers intentions. She seems to have accepted that there is no happy way out of this and is determined to take the object of her desire with her.

ON TOUR:
OCT
VIC/NSW/QLD

Transat - Theo     Rock, Folk, Garage 30/01/2012
We are Transat. We like Deckchairs and feedback. These were recorded across the Invasion Day weekend in the mysterious hidden valley of Mill Creek. Soothing tones caress your blackened soul.
Theo is a loser but he does a good quart. Theo is infused with lilting, stoner, country energy which will make you feel good to be a outsider on the road to nowhere.

Other tracks by Transat:  On a Day Like Today  -  Theo (Radio Edit)

“Their voices seem made for each other…it is a dark, sexy beauty that leaves you wanting more” INPRESS
“Two of the most amazingly rich, mature, romantic voices in Melbourne. Both are wholly worthy of the recognition and praise already heaped upon them.” ARTS HUB

Jamie Hutchings - Smoky Dawson     Blues/Roots, Alternative Country 25/01/2012
As leader one of Australia's most critically acclaimed rock bands, Bluebottle Kiss, Jamie Hutchings has written and released over 140 songs, toured relentlessly in Australia, the US and Europe.
With its stuttering rhythm interspersed with clattering percussion "Smoky Dawson" eulogizes the late Australian Country & Western singer. A meditation on a time and culture fast becoming forgotten against the speed and self absorption of today. There is a bucolic rustiness to its production with Hutchings' trademark blazing guitar solos.

Other tracks by Jamie Hutchings:  Ned Kelly Indoors  -  Slack Magic
