Julia's second EP is an amazingly heart-warming collection of songs in the style of Australian Folk Heritage rock, showcasing music that takes you on a rhythmic and melodic journey to the world of rural Australia.
Julia's commanding stage presence is complemented by her soaring operatic 3-octave vocal range, coupled with ballad guitar lines and rocking bass licks, sure to get your heart pumping and toes tapping.
‘Stairway to the Moon’ features two of Julia’s sisters, Louise Cottone (violinist QLD Symphony Orchestra) and Claire Cottone, otherwise known as popular soul/reggae artist CC the Cat, along with her band members Felicity Lawless, Arno Cassidy and Dan Briffa.
Julia has recently returned from a successful tour of JAPAN with this new EP, making lots of new fans and friends as she travelled and performed in venues from Tokyo to Osaka. About this track...
I wrote this song after marching in Reclaim the Night all those years ago, and carrying a heavy statue named ‘Gina’, who reminded me of my Nonna and Nana, who were marvellous cooks and cooked for massive Italian family feasts! This song is about food, oh, and you will dance!
