Rainman - The Buzz (Feat. Pear)     Hip Hop, Pop 18/05/2012
Mention Rainman amongst initiated and the respect attributed to him is palatable. Recognised as Queensland’s finest, his list of collaborations and guest appearances is beyond compare.
'The Buzz' flips from the intense moments at the start of a relationship to a time in the future when it's all over.
It’s an album full of humor, emotions and reflections. The kind of hip hop that people who don’t listen to hip hop can still get into.

Voltaire Twins - Young Adult     Pop, Dance, Electronic 18/05/2012
With their dancey beats and fun melodies, Voltaire Twins manages to stand apart from the rest of the indie-electronic music crowd.
An ode to youth, Young Adult is a celebration of naivety, and adolescent zeal. The lyrics tell a loose narrative of teenage callowness and overconfidence. Musically it is a bombastic pop song, drenched in echo and layered with brassy synth’s. Within seconds of it being uploaded, the blogosphere loved it.

Dallas Frasca - One Man Woman     Rock, Blues, Roots, Pop 04/05/2012
Dallas Frasca is a hard working independent juggernaut who, with her band and this yet to be released album, is carving her own path, both in Australia and internationally.
With no click tracks for that true honest rock sound, all the guitars, drums and vocals were live takes and most songs were captured in their first or second takes. The entire record features no bass; just Dallas and Jeff duelling gargantuan slabs of riffs on 2 Les Paul’s.

Flap! - The Boogieman     Pop, Roots, Jazz, Folk 04/05/2012
A fiery yet charming ensemble featuring brass, guts, and words, Flap! have been described as music that is both old and new, English folk, gypsy brass and Trinidadian calypso influences.
Musically corner-stoned by Eamon McNelis’ pivotal trumpet, Jess Guille’s dulcet vocals, slinky upright bass and watertight drums, "The Boogieman” sets up a riot of colour and rhythm right from onset. A song that is a raucous, sweet, frivolous, frenetic and deliciously irrepressible affair.

Only the Sea Slugs - The Stolen Name     Rock, Pop, Psychedelic, Garage 03/05/2012
2011 was a big year for Only The Sea Slugs. Besides the release of “Street Music”, there was two singles lifted from the mini album and two national tours
‘Stolen Name’ once again shows a band with their own bend, roughing up the already mottled surface of dark rock pop psychedelia. A moody Mexican tinged, tribal number about war, love & injustice. Guitar rock over hip hop beats, swooning keys, shadowy harmonies. Get lit.”

The Ray Mann Three - Bleeding     Pop, Soul, Chill, Roots 03/05/2012
Ray Mann, from soul act The Ray Mann Three, has begun work on his interactive online concept, The Sketches Project: a new song/ video every month, from demo to finito.
'Sketches' vol. 2 sees Ray Mann expand the sound of The Ray Mann Three beyond languid, stripped-back soul, and into more upbeat territory. The opening track, Bleeding, combines stomp-rock, disco vocals, handclaps and sparse guitar stabs in a song about quitting someone who's bad for you.

Rainman - Darlin ( feat Calski)     Hip Hop, Hip Hop, Pop, Rap 30/03/2012
The Herd’s Urthboy said it well: “destined to become a positive and listenable force… with laidback but self-assured flows and gift for hooks and phrases. One of Brisbane’s bestkept secrets”.
“Darlin’ is a love song. An ode to lady hip hop, a soul drenched Australian take on Common’s ‘I Used to Love H.E.R’ classic - with a twist.

The Floors - You Got to Move     Blues/Roots, Rock, Blues, Roots 24/02/2012
Sincere and effectively simple; The Floors’ raw and primitive live sound summons a similarly raw and primitive reaction... people dance. They sing along.
In the studio The Floors are a live band. They perform their songs together in a room, captured by a few German microphones and a friend with good ears. The life of the recording is the performance... You Got to Move!
