Scott Matthew - The Wonder Of Falling In Love     Pop, Folk 01/07/2011
This Queensland-born part-time New Yorker, is the bearded, angel-voiced, ukulele-wielding folk singer who won fans around the globe in John Cameron Mitchell's post-Hedwig & The Angry Inch screen revelation, 'Shortbus'.
Featuring Matthew's haunting voice - that many have likened to early-Bowie - this first single from Gallantry's Favorite Son, finds the singer in a surprisingly hopeful mood, surrounded by Bacharach-style pop-strings and early Weller-esque Council-Stylings. Hum-a-long chorus harmonies, transport the metropolitan folkie onto the set of a Technicolor musical.

Inga Liljestrom - The Rain And The Sea     Rock, Experimental 11/04/2011
Singer-songwriter Inga Liljestrom has one of the most unique, and instantly recognisable, voices to emerge from Australia. From gentle folk, to the raw and cinematic, her mood swings universally hypnotise.
A new statement of intent for Inga, showcasing a rawer, guitar driven sound. Album's opening line: "...Somewhere between the rain and the sea...". Somewhere between choking possession and full-scale abandon.

Other tracks by Inga Liljestrom:  Bittersweet  -  Lovers Gun
Inga Liljeström - Thistle     Folk, World, Acoustic, Electronic 06/12/2010
Often compared to Bjork, Portishead, Lamb, Goldfrapp etc, Australia's most beguiling vocalist Inga Liljestrom also gets compared Marianne Faithful, Nico and more bizarrely Nick Cave/David Lynch! In short, she's unique!
A tender, new chanson-style single from Australia's most enigmatic singer. The romantic squeezebox back by Stu Hunter contrasts starkly with the highly-charged, viscerally bruised new LP to follow early in 2011 where low-slung guitars and drums replace earlier strings/electronics. Bonus here is a Hazlewood/Sinatra cover featuring Crow's Peter Fenton!
