Georgia Fair impressed many all around the East Coast with their laidback attitude and affecting songs as they toured with favourites, Lisa Mitchell, Boy & Bear and Darren Hanlon.
Jordan and Ben have been playing music since they were teenagers living on Sydney’s North Shore banging out Nirvana covers.. Soon they both found themselves leaning towards acoustic guitars and embracing the singer/songwriter tradition.
Their debut album was recorded in North Carolina with Bill Reynolds of the highly respected Band Of Horses, according to Jordan “Bill was our kind of guy. He’s really eccentric; just non-stop ideas. We really trusted his ideas and he trusted ours as well.”
It’s translucent folk rock. The pair has jokingly referred to their style as ‘healing music’ and indeed it does have its soothing qualities.
“From my perspective it’s about being stuck in the mud a little bit with where you’re at in relationships and where you are in your life,” says Jordan. “…and being young.”
New single Marianne, was recorded at home, with old friends Boy & Bear & Lisa Mitchell.
Jordan and Ben will be back on tearing up the countryside in the near future.
