On the release of their debut full length, So Be It, Gatherer is set to proclaim in honest clarity: growing up is a bitshit.
Gatherer started as a humble three-piece post hardcore power pop rock something-or-other band in a tiny shed in New Zealand. Inspired by all things and without any kind of goals in mind other than play music, talk shit and hang-out, they quickly developed a sound of their own.
As well as touring extensively on their local circuit, the band made occasional trips to the shores of Australia, where friendships and fans were quickly found. As their Australian network grew, sotoo did their requirement to be there. So, after recruiting a fourth member, Jordy, younger brother of drummer Reuben, the band relocated itself permanently to Australia.
With the change of scenery came an inevitable change in sound. What had started as angst and frustration with their inability to do what they love, quickly became optimism at the realization that Gatherer was doing exactly what it was meant to do.
