Fallon Cush - It's A Line
Fallon Cush's 2011 warm and emotionally wide-ranging self-titled debut album, was met with praise from fans and critics alike. Jersey Beat’s Jim Testa said of the album, “Good pop music, a wise man once said, accomplishes the tricky balancing act of being both instantly familiar and yet original...Steve Smith and his mates, manages just that, invoking influences as diverse as Elvis Costello, Squeeze, the Byrds, and early Rod Stewart.”

Late 2011 found Smith with another album’s worth of material, and back in Linear Recording with Scott Aplin (keys), Chris Vallejo (bass) and Josh Schuberth (drums, bass), recording what would become April. With Glen Hannah on guitar and renowned vocalist Lily Dior on backing vocals the songs were again allowed to grow organically in the studio with the musicianship of the band evident throughout. The album recorded and mixed by Chris Vallejo at Linear Recording was mastered by Greg Calbi (Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, The Antlers) at Sterling Sound, NYC.
While the first record dealt with a broken relationship, singer-songwriter Steve Smith is looking for inspiration elsewhere these days. “The record is really about reconciliation, fresh starts, tearing down walls, and building bridges,” claims Smith.

About this track...

A rocking slice of Americana featuring "bible belt" harmonies. The song was inspired by film "Inside Job" which exposes the main players in America's "sub-prime" crisis. As the song says "the best in their game, sounding like Ruben Kincaid" drawing a parallel with the Partridge Families bumbling manager
