Emily Wurramara - Hey Love

Emily Wurramara - Hey Love
Hers was a childhood of water and music. Life growing up on the island was one of, travel, fishing and extended family. A mother telling her stories of dreams and dolphins that would one day become the seed of her music. Moving to Brisbane at age 6 was a shock, but it was in that city that she started to discover new sounds and senses.

Emily's debut EP was Black Smoke (released 2016), 6 songs proving her passion for culture and heritage heard through every beat of her deeply engaging and personal songs pulsed by her detailed and crafted talent for songwriting. Black Smoke was sung in both English and Anindilyakwa (annen dilly-yark-wah), the traditional language of her home on Groote Eylandt, NT.

2016 was been huge for Emily. A 2x finalist in the Indigenous category and performer at the Queensland Music Awards in March, a New Talent finalist at the National Indigenous Music Awards in August, Triple J feature artist at Big Sound, a guest speaker on the Big Sound panel for Amrap's 'The Future of Your Music' conference, and an ambassador for Greenpeace's Save The Reef Campaign.

Emily has officially cemented her name in the Australian music scene.
