Money on Verema - Fields of Corn     Rock, Alternative Country, Grunge 26/09/2016
Money On Verema is the alt-rock brainchild of Jono Colliver, known predominatly as Vance Joy’s bassist and member of Melbourne bands The Pretty Littles, Dr. Colossus and GUMS.
A mechanical and unnatural backbeat is the spine of this reflection on apathy. It's based around the scenes of middle American family's raising crops of corn and sending sons to war. If apathy rules, this is the way Australia will soon head. Agriculture of humans.

Desert Blues Cartel - Long Gone     Rock, Blues, Roots 23/09/2016
Desert Blues Cartel are a nouveau blues band that both lyrically and musically leans towards the darker aspects of the blues genre.
“Long Gone” is a swampy blues number continuing the band’s forays into both the darker and rockier extremities of the blues genre. From the opening wailing harmonica, this track has the potential to disturb and unsettle the listener while simultaneously embracing them comfortably in their own history of personal tragedy.

A real ear catching piece of work.

Localles - JFK     Rock 23/09/2016
"Localles’ live routine is starting to garner some buzz. Add some political awareness to that and they could have all the hallmarks of the next Midnight Oil. Too soon?"- MusicFeeds
JFK is a statement of perspective of how two opposing forces can share common goals. That no matter what side people are on, the other side is always wrong. Specific historical moments show the affect on everyday people of the decisions made by men in ivory towers.

Ausmuteants are Jake, Billy, Marc and Sean. They are not the band of the future or of the past, just regular dudes practising the sound of things falling apart.

The Bear Hunt - Who Made You God?     Rock, Garage 16/09/2016
Brisbane’s The Bear Hunt are reminiscent of 90’s alt rock with fuzzed out guitars, big melodies and big outros; Angular, weird, but super melodic.
The band had recently entered Brisbane’s infamous recording studio “The Shed” with the talented Bryce Moorhead (Violent Soho, HITS, Texas Tea, WALKEN) to commence recording their next EP, due for release early 2017. The band have moulded their sound reaching into new heavier depths with their lead single, “Who Made You God?”.

Sydney's mintest, electro-skank-hop duo Gold Member, transitions from modern hip-hop infused verses to its infectious 80s pop-style chorus. Az on guitar + vocals and Goldie's Gus tearing up the turntables.
Perfect for a summer arvo playlist, with Goldie's signature lyrical flow and hypnotic guitar creating a distinctly Aussie vibe. The song is about celebrating failure, something that we've all had to do at one point. Life doesn't always give you what you want, but it gives you what you need.

The Outdoor Type - Rumination     Rock, Folk 16/09/2016
Zack Buchanan questioned his musical path when he stumbled on a fresh direction. That led to a buzz new indie-rock project, The Outdoor Type and now an international record deal.
‘Rumination’, "The song is about the nature of the modern, routine-driven, fast-paced, nine-to-five, mortgage 'til you die time that we live in. It's a rejection of that – and, at the same time, a want to prove to yourself, or to others, that you are capable of all those things."
