Liam Hudson - You'll Be Fine     Electronic, Pop, Rock 29/08/2016

The song is similar in style to Chet Faker, or Jack Garratt’s ballads, but with electronic elements and vocal play like Safia. The song discusses how just because you know everything will be fine in the end, it doesn't make the sadness any easier while you're in that place.

Fan Girl - Disappear     Rock, Garage, Psychedelic, Punk 25/08/2016
Melbourne’s Fan Girl is new alternative catchy rock at its finest and, who knows, perhaps your new favourite rock outfit.

Imperial Broads - You're Scared     Rock, Punk, Garage 25/08/2016
Imperial Broads are three guitar-wielding gals (and one honarary guy) who formed in a garage in Marrickville, and bonded over a love of sugar-rush punk and throwback garage-thrash.
Pip says '"You're Scared" was written from a place of sexual frustration. At the time I was also bored by the coy expression of female sexuality in the music I liked. I wanted to flip the predator/pursued power relationship and get people dancing at the same time."

Safe Hands - The Great Affair     Rock, Punk 25/08/2016
Lauded Novacastrians Safe Hands will release their expansive sophomore LP on September 23. An exciting sonic departure; it is a dynamic, emotive and refined adaptation of Australian heavy music. Unmissable.
'The Great Affair' is a stirring meditation on parenthood, completed by a kicking, crunching, guitar-drenched chorus. Perfectly powerful. A haunting piece that evokes suburban landscapes and long, quiet nights. Australian heavy music at it's most interesting and challenging.

Swap - Not One Of Us     Rock, Metal, Soundtrack (Film Related) 25/08/2016
Swap proves that rock is not just the domain of geologists.Melodic masterpieces with insane guitars and souring vocals, Swap is the pinnacle of what heavy rock music can be.
'Not One Of Us' was written about someone's (unfortunately to common) view of boat arrival asylum seekers. He had the view that they were separate from us and therefore not our problem. This song discusses and confronts this view. This song was also featured in the documentary film 'Freedom Stories'.

Alex L'Estrange - Favourite Star     Rock 23/08/2016
Part moon-tanned studio dweller, part world-weary troubadour, Brisbane-based songwriter and producer Alex L’Estrange is turning up on a fair few notable lists of 2016’s promising new artists to watch.
'Favourite Star' was written in an attempt to single-handedly channel the kind of live energy created by a crowd-working party band, the song prides itself on “not being too concerned with having dumb fun, even when you know it’s a little pathetic”, says Alex.

Postblue - Love To Praise You     Rock, Psychedelic 23/08/2016

Recorded with renowned Melbourne-based producer Steven Schram (San Cisco, Eagle & The Worm), ‘Love To Praise You’ sees the band meld their staple influences of The Pixies, The Smashing Pumpkins with glimmers of hazy modern day psych-rock likened to Babe Rainbow and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.

Castlecomer - Judy     Rock, Pop 22/08/2016
Castlecomer are one of the hardest working bands in Australia. Constantly touring built the band a dedicated fan base and turned their live show into a tight, electric, impressive experience.
I wrote 'Judy' as a way to release a big work week listening to really dark evidence in court. The groove and the hook had been in my head for weeks but I just needed something to sing about, and that’s where the character of Judy helped.
