In 2009 Drop Tank was joined by the frenetic live energy of Scott Davey and the trio began smashing shows in the underground innerwest warehouse party scene.
Later in 2009 Drop Tank recorded their first EP. With engineer Luke Purse, they turned the Warehouse space into a giant recording studio and pumped out six of the dirtiest tracks, courtesy of the overhead flight path, dangerous (now jailed) neighbours and twelve other mad housemates.
Joining the line up for the recording was guitarist Jon Sora. The screaming solos and intricate guitar rhythms he added cemented his place in the line up.
Drop Tank has played the largest underground free party (SYDTEC) in Sydney’s history, caused an argument in a festival organisers meeting and are now in talks to record an album with an anonymous Melbourne producer at the end of the year!
