Like so many great Australian songwriters, Corey Colum is as real as it gets. He had a traditional family upbringing in Bunbury, Western Australian, living with mum, dad and his brother & sister and was brought up on core values and hard work.
Now based in the mining town of Karratha Western Australia, with a young family of his own, Corey Colum is ready to fulfill his musical dreams.
Corey first picked up a guitar at the age of ten. He wrote his first song at 15 and honed his craft playing local gigs in Bunbury before winning a local Telstra Road to Tamworth heat and heading to the Tamworth Country Music festival.
Corey caught the eye of ABC Music when performing at the Telstra Road To Tamworth Grand Final in early 2009. On that night, the Grand Final audience voted him the events “People‟s Choice Award” winner.
Corey got together with premier Australian songwriters including Colin Buchanan, Matt Scullion, James Gillard and the producer of his debut album, the multi award winning and acclaimed Australian producer, Garth Porter.
