Adam Dunning is an Australian singer and composer of summer jazz / Bossa Nova music. His album "Sunset Monkeys" has been described as “cool, sultry, sexy, and sophisticated.” Recorded in Rio de Janeiro with the great 60s Bossa Nova legends including Roberto Menescal, Joao Donato and Brazil’s contemporary artists, his originals are deemed melodic and relaxed, as are his adaptations of some of Brazil’s greatest classics. His songs have environmental undertones, with renowned environmentalist David Suzuki featuring in the track “Sunset Monkeys”. Warner Brothers also backed his French adaptation to the classic Gershwin track “’S Wonderful”.
Adam left for Rio in 2005 having given up his life as a lawyer in London’s entertainment world, and over the next 5 years worked closely with the great “Carioca” artists and Bossa Nova legends in Rio. Living in a small part of Rio “Leblon”, close to Ipanema, Adam earned the name “Australioca” – the blood of an Australian, and the soul of the “Carioca”.
